The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has distributed 40,000 bags of inorganic fertilisers, five agricultural drones, and nearly 8,000 cartons of organic fertilisers to support farmers across Ghana under the Feed Ghana Programme.

The intervention, presented in Accra, is aimed at increasing food production, improving farm productivity, and strengthening food security nationwide.

The fertilisers were handed over to the Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana for distribution to member farmers, especially those who may not access inputs through district-level channels. Additional supplies are also being rolled out across all regions through district agricultural offices.

The agricultural drones will support farmers with crop monitoring, early detection of pests and diseases, and better decision-making on the farm. Government says this reflects a shift toward more modern, data-driven farming practices.

In addition, organic fertilisers were distributed to selected farmer groups and irrigation schemes to help improve soil health and ensure sustainable production over time.

According to the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, the programme is part of broader efforts to modernise agriculture, reduce food imports, create jobs, and make farming more attractive, especially to young people.

The Feed Ghana Programme continues to focus on building a stronger, more efficient, and resilient agricultural sector for the country.
