AGRIC MINISTER PRESENTS GH¢1 MILLION CHEQUE TO 2023 NATIONAL BEST FARMER

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the minister of Food and Agriculture together with Alhaji Yakubu Alhassan-Tali, the Managing Director of Agriculture Development Bank ADB, has presented a cheque for GHC1 million to Ms. Charity Akortia, the national best farmer for 2023.
Presenting the cheque, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the minister for Food and Agriculture lauded Charity Akortia for emerging winner of the 2023 National Best Farmer awards.
Hon. Agric minister thanked the Agriculture Development Bank ADB for their continued support of the minority as well as Ghanaian farmers.

Ms. Akortia, a 57-year-old woman from Agona West municipality in the Central Region, was crowned National Best Farmer for 2023 during the awards night’s 39th edition held in Tarkwa, Western Region, on 5th December 2023.

She expressed her profound gratitude to the Agriculture Development Bank ADB for the huge amount and also for supporting the farmers at large.

In an interview, Ms. Charity Akortia also thanked the Agric minister and the entire ministry for their continued support and Called the youth to channel into agriculture.

Alhaji Yakubu Alhassan-Tali, Managing Director of ADB, said Agriculture Development Bank ADB remains committed to ensuring that the agriculture sector continues to play a dominant role in the nation’s development.
He said ADB being the choice of farmers and fishers, was privileged to sponsor the 2023 National Farmers’ Day celebrations as it has done over the years.
“We are here to fulfill our sponsorship of GH¢1 million to the 2023 National Best Farmer and the government through the Ministry to rededicate our commitment to enhancing our investment in the agricultural sector.”
